Getting started with the Camino Primitivo

Who are these creatures, and why does this blog exist?

Salutations from Msgr. Gregory Schlesselmann (left) and Msgr. Joseph Goering (right).  Msgr. Schlesselmann serves at St. Paul's Newman Center in Fargo, whilst I, the geeky scribe, serve as Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral with a few side gigs at the Diocese of Fargo.

We like to take hikes.  You may recognize this photo as Devils Tower in Wyoming.   It is from a few years ago.

This year, we decided to hike the Camino Primitivo, the original pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.   This route is approximately 200 miles, from Oviedo to Santiago de Compostela.

We plan to hike the entire 200 miles in approximately 15 days.

Family, friends, and parishioners may enjoy sharing in the journey, if not in the humor of the blogging scribe.   Therefore, this blog exists.

As an initial note of warning:  We are carrying everything on our backs for this hike, so don't expect to see an expansive wardrobe or regular clerical attire.   But we will wash stuff along the way...
